US President Donald Trump announced the two-year-old Gaza genocide to be “over” on Sunday, preparing to release hostages.
Under the US President’s earlier proposed plan, Hamas completed preparations for the release of remaining hostages in exchange for Israel's release of 2,000 detainees.
The US leader’s arrival in Israel will be shortly after the expected release, where the Israeli congress will be addressed before his summit with world leaders in Egypt to strengthen his plan to promote Middle East peace.
Israel’s army chief, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, claimed that the military pressure they’ve applied for over two years, together with complementary and diplomatic measures, constitute a victory over Hamas.
According to Shosh Bedrosian, a spokeswoman from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said the release of hostages is expected to begin early Monday, with Israel’s expectation of the 47 hostages to be released and sent across the border of Israel, 20 of which are confirmed to be alive.
The Palestinian prisoners are only to be released once all 47 hostages are confirmed to have been set across the border into Israel.
According to the health ministry in a Hamas-run territory, Israel’s campaign in Gaza resulted in at least 67,806 casualties, which the United Nations confirmed to be credible.
The given data indicated that at least half of the casualties were women and children.
