Jason “f0rsakEn” Susanto made sure to nail his name in the Valorant world after spearheading Paper Rex Express’ (PRX) 13-11, 15-17, 13-10, 14-12 upset of FNATIC (FNC) to claim the VCT Masters Grand Final trophy at Toronto, yesterday.

Susanto went deep in his bag in the finale, sustaining in the 2v4 clutch alongside Ilya “something” Petrov to fend off FNATIC in the winning map of Lotus.

The Indonesian sensation tallied the highest KDA consisting of 81 kills, 75 deaths and 32 assists, securing him the Most Valuable Player award.

“It really means a lot to me and I still couldn’t believe it.” Susanto stated after lifting the trophy and winning the MVP.

Meanwhile, Filipino pride Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza also contributed to the team, finishing with a 175 ACS.

“While we’re playing, I always tell the boys to smile, and once we're smiling, the positive energy will come.” Mendoza said in an interview on how he kept the team’s composure even in a stressful situation.

FNATIC’s top fragger Emir “Alfajer” Beder put up a good fight, finishing with the series high 270 ACS despite the championship loss.

After FNATIC kicked off Sunset map one with a 4-0 run, Paper Rex capitalized the momentum as they went on to blaze eight straight rounds leading to halftime, PRX then eventually shifted the game in the proceeding half to secure the first round.

The Icebox pick for FNC in the second round was a great choice after they set match point to 7-12, Paper Rex somehow managed to steer back and forced a deadlock, but was momentarily held back by FNATIC’s 15-17 retake victory led by Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski, bagging round two.

Paper Rex train had a slow drag in the first minutes of Pearl but was entirely turned by Ahmad “d4v41” bin Nordin’s immense playstyle, finishing the map with a plus-nine kill/death ratio with sentinel agent Vyse.

FNC’s hopes of forcing a Map 5 was in the palm of their hands, but was eventually cut short by the Express as they dragged Lotus into overtime and won the crown with the clutch post plant retake from f0rsakEn and something.

The Paper Rex Express will hold on to a brief break, as they will try and return to regional competition in the Paciic League to win a ticket for VALORANT Champions 2025.
