Filipino tennis sensation Alex Eala bows out of the Nottingham Open after losing to Polish player Magda Linette 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 32 of the said tournament.

Eala started out strong with a 3-0 lead in the opening set, but Linette quickly erased it by winning five straight games. She managed to capture one more game, but her opponent also grabbed one, giving Linette the first set.

The second was a close battle with the two players tying 2-2 at the start. Unfortunately for Eala, Linette's experience triumphed as she won three straight games to make it 5-2.

Although Eala managed to break Linette's momentum by winning the eight game, she eventually succumbed in the ninth game as the Pole eliminated the Filipina in the game's fifth match point.

Prior to losing in the R32, she defeated former world No. 39 Varvara Gracheva of France in the first round of the qualifiers and overcame No. 88 Anca Todoni of Romania in the second qualifying round.
