Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) shrugged off a third-game meltdown after slamming the door shut in a dazzling game 4, sealing Falcons’ (FLCN) storybook run, 3-1 to advance in round 2 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 playoffs.
Dispatching David Charles “Flaptzy” Canon’s Uranus first before bombarding Falcon’s base was all it took for Team Liquid to overpower the fellow titan in a back-and-forth game 4.
Kiel Calvin “Oheb” Soriano’s brilliant Ruby-Harith pick led TLPH’s charge in the first two games with a combined KDA of 12-0-12, while Karl Gabriel “Karltzy” Nepomuceno’s Lancelot ascended in the last game, 3-2-6, to secure them a spot against the Super Fam.
The blue-clad troupes punctuated the soaring squad’s magical run; FLCN beat Onic Philippines, APBREN, and even TLPH, to rise from the eighth seed but were thrashed after their next encounter.
The horses prospered from the close team fights in the middle game thanks to Oheb’s Esmeralda frontline and Karltzy’s efficient blocking at the 12’ mark in the first game.
Pushing the pedal harder, TLPH then spotted Flaptzy’s Uranus at the FLCN’s base sidewall, flooding him with relentless attacks, making it impossible for them to impede the lord marching at the top lane.
Meanwhile, FLCN’s third game rotation adjustments, reinforced with Supermarco’s onslaught with the Bane shocked TLPH, catapulting a 19-10 win.
Although, the first two games were a piece of pie for Oheb after he stole the limelight with his untouchable Ruby and Harith that forged TLPH a scintillating offense.
TLPH will take on ONIC tomorrow, October 23, Thursday, at 3pm for upper bracket semis 1.
