ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A fire early Thursday destroyed multiple homes in Barangay Tetuan, displacing 23 families, according to local authorities.
The blaze began in the early morning and spread quickly through the community, damaging residential structures before firefighters were able to contain it.
Personnel from the Zamboanga City Fire District and other city government units responded to the incident.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office is coordinating assistance for residents who lost their homes.
No casualties have been reported and fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
