An official of the House of Representatives (HOR) was killed while attending his daughter's birthday party on Sunday, June 15.

The victim was identified as Director Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, chief of technical staff of the Committee on Ways and Means.

According to police reports, two unidentified suspects entered the party's venue and gunned him down at 2:55 pm.

The official was rushed to the hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile the suspects escaped the crime using the motorcycle, shooting the subdivision's security guard along the way.

After the incident, House speaker Martin Romualdez gave his condolences to the bereaved family, remembering his dedication.

“Director Pulhin was a long-serving and dedicated public servant. His professionalism, integrity, and quiet commitment to his work earned him the respect of his peers and superiors alike. We condemn this brutal act of violence in the strongest possible terms,” the Speaker said.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) also assured the public that justice will be served to Pulhin.

The QCPD are still investigating the crime.
